Two-vehicle accident in Johnson County kills one

The Kentucky State Police has reported that 34-year-old Randall Powers died after being involved in a two-vehicle collision on Kentucky Route 3 in Van Lear, Johnson County, Kentucky on the morning of January 8, WSAZ reported.

The accident occurred around 5 a.m., according to statements made by Sheriff Dwayne Price. Official reports from the state police stated a car was traveling on the highway when the driver appeared to lose control; the vehicle hopped over the median and collided with an oncoming truck. The truck was sent sprawling over an embankment.

State police said Powers, the driver of the truck, succumbed to his mortal injuries a few days after the accident. He had not been wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident. Reconstruction methods were used to further investigate the case.

The attorneys of the Sampson Law Firm are deeply sorry this incident occurred and extend their sincere condolences to the friends and family suffering from this great loss.
