McCracken County two-vehicle collision injures two women

A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Maxon Road and Cairo Road in McCracken County, Kentucky injured two women around 1:55 p.m. on Thursday, May 12 .

According to preliminary investigations, 60-year-old Dongola, Illinois resident Estelita Wilson was driving north on Maxon Road when she failed to stop at the Cairo Road intersection. The failure to yield caused a collision with another vehicle, driven by 67-year-old Paducah resident Lavanda Elrod, who was driving west on Cairo Road. Wilson and Elrod were taken by ambulance to the emergency rooms at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah and Baptist Health Louisville Emergency Care in Louisville, respectively, for their critical injuries.
