Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones no longer allowed on planes

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 smartphones will no longer be allowed on modes of air transportation within, from, and to the United States, beginning Saturday, October 15. The change is under the order of the Department of Transportation and Federal Aviation Administration made on October 14.

The ban was made because of reports that units of the Samsung smartphone model have spontaneously combusted and caught fire or exploded. Passengers who try to take their Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones with them inside airplanes will be subject to fines and criminal prosecution and will have their phones confiscated.
