Five injured in car crash after Kentucky Derby

A two-vehicle collision on Southern Parkway in Louisville, Kentucky at around 10 p.m. on Saturday, May 7 resulted in the injury of five individuals.

According to horse trainer Dale Romans, he and four of his friends were riding in a car a day after the Kentucky Derby to the Veterans of Foreign Wars post on Longfield Avenue. The car was struck by another vehicle when the driver ran the stop sign, causing a collision with Romans’ vehicle and sending it into nearby traffic. Romans’ vehicle was then T-boned by a pickup truck.

One of the victims suffered from cracked ribs, another incurred a broken pelvis, and one individual had a fractured vertebrae in the neck.
